This is what the Mayor and his wife looked like 38 years ago. I think it must have been a long day because Debi's eyes look a little blood shot.

d

This is a picture that I got from Uncle Phil and Aunt Ruth. It was taken the day Andy and Debi got married at the luncheon afterwards. We are at Uncle Eldon and Aunt Maxine's house.

Grandma got some new leather chairs to fill some of the space in the living room.

The grand kids got new playhouses to have all kinds of adventures in.

If you can't read the sign above Rachel's head, it says, "Please Knock".

I'd hate to think that the kids are practicing for when we all become homeless.

The Valentine cakes have come around again. Can anybody remember the first time we decorated Valentine Cakes? My guess is that most of the kids were still in grade school. The reason we started was an activity we were doing maybe for Family Home Evening. The idea was inspired by a cookie decorating experience Susan and her roommates did at BYU.

Not all the decorations find their way onto the cakes.

Some decorations even find their way close to the mouth, but not in the mouth.

Branch members and friends and family came to wish Austin success after Austin spoke in church (in Spanish no less)

Amelia was one of the people who wished Austin goodbye or should I say "until we meet again".

Austin with President Steadman after he was set apart as a missionary. We don't have a picture of the suits that helped with the setting apart. Wait a minute, nobody else wore suits. We did get a commitment from Aiden, that he would be the next missionary to leave from the family (in eleven years).

Austin trying to console Kaylee by telling her that he will only be gone for a little while and that he will be a better person when he returns.

Some of the nieces and nephews wish Austin a hearty farewell knowing full well that they will be quite a bit bigger when Austin returns in two years. How will he ever recognize them

Austin having a heart to heart talk with Bear (the stealth puppy) before he leaves her for two years.

The first stop along the arduous trek to the MTC was in Washington, Utah at Grandma Haynes house. It looks like Austin can't believe we made it this far.

We have yet to discover who is responsible for this 29 garbage can salute. We counted 29 garbage cans along the route to the Tiedamen home where Austin would make the final change.

Ready to report.

But first, follow President Steadman's counsel to get some ice cream

Enjoying the last few minutes with family .Enjoying the last few minutes with family .

Austin with parents at the traditional picture in front of the Provo temple picture. It only took 6
tries to get Austin to smile like this.

Here we are approaching the Missionary Snatchers.

They look deceivingly harmless and it looks like they have already gained Austin's confidence.

But the Mom knows different and gives Austin a tearful farewell. The Missionary Snatchers smile in the background knowing that they have been successful again.

As the Mom leaves, she thinks in her mind, "I'm glad I don't have to do this again".

This is a before shot of Austin as he prepares to leave for the temple.

After the session we all met in the Atrium and this shows that everyone of our kids were in the picture. It was really emotional for me to have all my kids at the temple.

This is a picture 0f the family members that supp9orted Austin in this new part of his life.

Some of the grandkids are quite creative when they come over to Sunday dinner. This is an outdoor fort. I think I need Lance to tell me what everything is.
Not to be outdone, other grandkids made an indoor fort in the bedroom.

One of the things that we picked up from Spencer Livingston was blancing the babies. This is something that always thrills Grandma Haynes and so the boys have practiced doing it for years
